THE ORIGIN STORY
01 / ALWAYS A DESIGNERIT STARTED WITH
PAPER DOLLS.
I have been creating clothes for as long as I can remember. As a child, I drew paper dolls with wardrobes my cousins and I could change, clipped favorite looks from my mother's magazines, and made outfits for my Barbies from fabric scraps. Once, I even cut up my jeans for doll clothes. My mother was not impressed; I thought the design was worth it.
At about ten, I learned to sew on my mother's machine. Fashion kept finding its way into everything I made. Eley LaCrue carries that same curiosity forward—now with denim, tailoring, color, texture and unexpected details as part of the design language.
